Edwin “Coopie” Gallagher, 78 of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Paoli Hospital, Paoli, PA
He was the son of Helen Gallagher and Edwin “Gip” Kelly.

Coopie was born and raised in West Chester, PA and attended St. Agnes School.

He spent most of his early years working alongside his older brother, Joe in his masonry business. In his later years, he worked at West Chester University, PA in the Custodial and later the Grounds Department before his retirement.

Coopie was a member of St. Agnes Church and could often be found at the 7am mass, sitting in the last pew.

He was a life member of the West Chester Eagles Club. He also held memberships at the V.F.W. Post #106 and the Moose Lodge #908.
Coopie was a fixture in the Borough of West Chester and was often seen walking around town and greeting all that he passed. He was particularly fond of his four-legged friends and always kept dog treats in his pockets. His memory was remarkable, never forgetting anyone’s name and his knowledge of West Chester history was astounding.

He rarely asked or wanted anything and would forego material possessions in exchange for spending time with friends and enjoying a beer.
